Mechanics
Guardians only take damage from pickaxes, and how hard you hit depends on the pickaxe and your Mining level.
The dragon warhammer special still works. They melee and sometimes stomp a 3x3 for heavy damage, so hit once and step two tiles away. Walking into the passage they guard knocks you back.
Which style: Your combat style doesn't matter. Only pickaxe damage counts.
