Mechanics
Steel dragons melee for up to 22 and breathe fire for up to 50, and Protect from Magic doesn't help against metal dragonfire.
Full protection is an antifire potion with an anti-dragon or dragonfire shield, or a super antifire on its own. With full protection you can step out of melee range between attacks and back in to hit, which avoids its melee.
Which style: Magic or ranged. Magic is especially good off its low Magic level and earth weakness. Use stab if meleeing.
